Passport Service in Indonesia
May 15, 2023The passport service provides Indonesian passports for Indonesian nationals who travel within or outside the country. It also offers visa services for foreign citizens visiting the country.
The Passport is a document that enables people to enter and leave a country, usually for business or tourism purposes. It can be issued in various forms and is valid for a certain amount of time, depending on the purpose of travel cara bikin paspor.
A passport is
required by most foreigners visiting Indonesia and it is a legal document that
should be produced to any immigration officer upon arrival or departure from
the country. If the passport is not in good condition, it can be denied entry
by the authorities at the airport or other port of entry.

also contact your nearest embassy or consulate. They can provide assistance
with obtaining an emergency passport.
There are two types
of passports issued in Indonesia: ordinary (non-electronic) and electronic. The
latter bears the signatures of both the issuing authority and the bearer. It is
also more secure than an ordinary passport as it contains a digital chip and
ten-fingerprints.
This type of passport
is issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Indonesian subject(s) who are
traveling on official business and/or whose immediate family members are
travelling on official business. It is a blue colored-cover passport.
The ordinary
non-electronic passport does not contain a chip but depicts the signature of
both the bearer and the issuing authority manually done during the interview by
the immigration officer. The latter is also stamped with the corresponding
issuing authority logo on the page immediately following the signatures.
It is the most
commonly used type of passport in Indonesia, with over 80% of the population
possessing one. The standard cover colour is dark green and the translation of
'passport' to 'Republik Indonesia' is bilingually (Indonesian above and English
below).
If you need to renew
your passport, visit your local consulate or embassy for an application. You
must submit a completed form, a fee and photo identification.
Applicants for a new
passport must present one passport photo on plain white, 8 1/2 x 11"
standard paper stock. The photo must be taken specifically for the passport and
should not be from a family snapshot or a school portrait. Eyeglasses are not
acceptable in the passport photo.
The passport must be
valid for a minimum of 6 months from the date of entry and it must have a
minimum of 2 blank visa pages available for use. If the passport is set to
expire in a shorter period of time or has already run out of visa pages, it
must be replaced before entering the country.
